How We’re Different From a Web Designer or IT Company
A plain explanation of what an automation partner does—and doesn’t do.
- Web designers build your online presence; IT companies keep your technology running.
- An automation partner improves how work flows through your business, with a person in the loop.
- Many small businesses work with all three, for different jobs.
Three different jobs
Small business owners often ask whether automation is something their web designer or IT company already does. Sometimes there's overlap, but the focus is different.
What a web designer does
A web designer builds how your business looks and reads online: your website, its pages, its design and often its search visibility. Their job is to help customers find you and get in touch.
What an IT company does
An IT company keeps your technology working: computers, networks, email accounts, backups and security. Their job is to make sure the tools are reliable and safe.
What an automation partner does
An automation partner looks at what happens after a customer gets in touch, and at the routine work between "something happens" and "it's done": replying to inquiries, following up on quotes, booking appointments, answering common questions, moving information between systems.
Our focus is on one workflow at a time, designed around approval points, with one outcome you can measure.
- 01Website brings the inquiry
- 02Automation captures and prepares
- 03 · A personYour team decides and replies
- 04Customer becomes a client
Where the work overlaps
- Website forms. Your web designer builds the form; we make sure every submission is captured, acknowledged and followed up.
- Email and accounts. Your IT company sets them up securely; we connect them to your workflows without changing who owns them.
- Data and security. We work within the security standards your IT provider has set, and document where information goes.
When to call which
- Your website looks dated or doesn't bring in inquiries: talk to a web designer.
- Your computers are slow or your email keeps failing: talk to your IT company.
- Inquiries go unanswered, quotes go cold or your team spends hours on the same admin every week: that's where we help.
